Our Background

A Deliberate Focus on Awareness

Borealix was established with a straightforward aim: to give Malaysian organisations well-structured, practical materials they can use to develop anti-bribery awareness internally — without having to build everything from scratch.

The founding team observed that many HR and compliance functions wanted to run regular awareness sessions but lacked ready-made, locally grounded content. Existing materials were often too generic, too legalistic, or not adapted to the day-to-day situations that Malaysian commercial teams actually encounter.

We started by developing a focused self-study module, then expanded into facilitated workshops and, later, a full programme build service for organisations that wanted something designed specifically around their teams and sectors.

Our office is based in Kuala Lumpur. We work with clients across a range of industries including financial services, property, manufacturing, and professional services.

Our Mission

Materials That Work in Practice

Practical Over Theoretical

We write scenarios and materials that reflect situations teams recognise — hospitality decisions, gift policies, escalation moments — not abstract principles detached from daily work.

Local Context First

Content is developed with Malaysian commercial settings in mind. Terminology, examples, and structural guidance reflect how organisations here typically operate.

Designed for Internal Use

Everything we produce is built so that HR and compliance functions can use it — run sessions, distribute materials, and build on the programme over time without depending on external support for every cycle.

Our Standards

How We Approach Our Work

Content Accuracy

All written materials go through an internal review before delivery. Scenario examples and policy descriptions are checked for factual consistency and contextual relevance.

Data Handling

Client information shared during scoping or workshop engagements is handled with care and not disclosed to third parties. We maintain straightforward data handling practices aligned with PDPA requirements.

Clear Scope Agreements

Each engagement begins with a written scope agreement so both parties share a common understanding of what is included, the timeline, and the deliverables.

Educational Framing

Materials are positioned as educational content and general awareness documents, not as regulated professional advice. We make this framing explicit in all outputs so organisations can use materials appropriately.

Regular Content Updates

We revisit module content and scenario libraries on a regular basis to keep examples current and relevant to the commercial environment in Malaysia.

Responsive Client Support

Enquiries and post-delivery questions are handled directly by the team that ran your engagement, not routed through a general support queue. Response times during office hours are typically within one business day.

Our Approach

Building Internal Awareness, Thoughtfully

Borealix works in a specific space: providing structured educational materials that support organisations in developing their own anti-bribery awareness programmes. We do not position ourselves as a substitute for qualified legal counsel or regulated compliance advisory. What we offer sits alongside those functions — giving HR and compliance coordinators workable content to run sessions, distribute as reference material, and build into annual calendars.

The Malaysian context shapes everything we do. The organisations we work with operate in a commercial environment that has its own norms around hospitality, relationship management, and institutional expectations. Our scenarios and discussion materials reflect that environment rather than importing assumptions from other markets.

We find that a common gap in organisational awareness programmes is not a lack of policy — most organisations have written policies — but a gap in practical familiarity. Staff may not know how a policy applies when a supplier offers tickets to an event, or what the right process is when they are unsure about a particular gift. Our materials address the space between policy and practice.

Our three programme formats are designed to meet organisations at different stages of readiness. Some need a quick, accessible starting point. Others want something their team can attend and discuss together. And some are building from the ground up and want a complete programme they can own and run independently going forward. Borealix supports all three of those positions.
